A New Milestone
The Step-Up Centre – A New Beginning was officially launched on 26 July 2016 by Mr Amrin Amin, Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs, marking a new chapter in SANA’s reintegration efforts. More than 150 guests from Voluntary Welfare Organisations, CARE Network agencies, donors and community partners witnessed the milestone event.
The Centre is a dedicated facility for ex-drug addicts who face obstacles in their recovery journey. The range of assistance offered include counselling, employment assistance, career guidance, interim financial and accommodation assistance, legal aid and tattoo removal programme.
In her welcome address, Mrs Quek Bin Hwee, SANA President, said, “Our success is made possible through the generosity of our donors, partners and volunteers…. We will continue to create more opportunities for our ex-offenders.”
“I was happy to join friends from SANA and many other volunteers to launch the SANA Step-Up Centre. There’s a lot of work ahead. If you know of anyone who needs help, please tell them about the Centre.” – Mr Amrin Amin, Parliamentary Secretary, Ministry of Home Affairs
