The Annual ‘Rise Above – Overcoming the Influence’ campaign was launched on 30 June 2018. The campaign aims to counter the softening stance and misperception toward drugs; garner mindshare and support for a drug-free Singapore; and to co-create preventive solutions and projects with community partners and stakeholders. Schools and youths join the campaign to initiate their own anti-drug projects. New link
Rise Above Campaign 2020
The Annual ‘Rise Above – Overcoming the Influence’ campaign’s success lies in our collaboration with schools and youth groups whose anti-drug projects with positive messages help counter the misperception of drugs as a safe recreation pursuit. Their messages speak directly to their peers, thus building greater support among youths for a drug-free Singapore. We also actively engage SANA Peer Leaders, our anti-drug advocates and recovery champions. They share their success stories that underscore the importance of preventive drug education.
In 2020, we ran our Rise Above Campaign in digital platforms for 2 weeks, due to the outbreak of Covid-19. SANA President Dr Jade Kua launched the event with a video message. The campaign included quizzes and live streams this year, to enable the message to reach to a wider audience.
Rise Above Campaign 2019
In 2019, we ran a month-long online campaign on social media, reaching out to more than 55,000 social media users. Media personalities Rafaat Haji Hamzah and Varman Chandra Mohan, and athletes Soh Rui Yong and Kerstin Ong supported our cause, by providing their message of support. Also, we engaged 61 at-risk youths in a Futsal Tournament co-organized with Tasek Jurong Pte Ltd.
