Objectives:

(1) Reach out to families of inmates to provide resources to help families cope with the incarceration
(2) Provide befriending support to families while the inmates serve their sentence
(3) Identify vulnerable children and stem intergenerational offending

YRCP Volunteer Engagement, Support and Recognition

YRCP Outreach
Initiatives

To continue growing our pool of grassroots volunteers and provide greater support to beneficiaries, outreach initiatives such as exhibition booths are held year-round to raise awareness of the work of the YRCP among the general public and recruit new volunteers.

YRCP Dialogue &
Onboarding Sessions

After onboarding sessions which orientate volunteers to YRCP, additional support is provided via regular training sessions and dialogue sessions during which volunteers are equipped with the skills and knowledge to best aid beneficiaries, and are given the opportunity to network.

Prison Visits for
Volunteers

In ensuring quality care for beneficiaries, volunteers participate in guided tours of prison facilities to gain insight and develop greater understanding of the prison environment in which the incarcerated persons reside. In this way, volunteers are also better informed to provide updates and assurance to beneficiaries regarding the welfare of their loved ones who are incarcerated.

YRCP Awards &
Appreciation Luncheon

SANA co-organises an annual Yellow Ribbon Community Awards and Appreciation Luncheon (YRCP) to recognise and celebrate the contributions of YRCP volunteers over the past year.
